JCorp to brief Mentri Besar on development Projects

JOHOR BARU: Johor Corporation (JCorp) will soon brief Mentri Besar Datuk Osman Sapian on current and past development projects undertaken by the group.

President and chief executive Datuk Kamaruzzaman Abu Kassim said it includes projects implemented before the state government was taken over by Pakatan Harapan following the 14th General Election.

"I met him (Osman) last night and he wanted to have a more in-depth knowledge of JCorp. So, we will have an official meeting after this.

"At the moment, we are still waiting for a suitable date to update him on both past and current projects," he told reporters after presenting contributions from six companies to the Raja Zarith Sofiah Wildlife Defenders Challenge (RZSWDC) 2018 programme here today.

Kamaruzzaman said all projects are currently on track and on schedule.

"We have started implementing the majority of our projects. We will table the government-linked projects (to the Mentri Besar) to get feedback.

"Up to this point, we do not have any (projects) which conflict with the goals of the government," he said, adding, the Johor Affordable Homes Scheme would be continued and the group would provide updates from time to time.

Concerning the RZSWDC 2018 programme, themed, "Johor Mighty Rivers", he said it would empower the role of rivers in peoples' lives, and also provide a mangrove management plan for the Johor and Lebam Rivers.

"The two rivers were chosen for the mangrove management plan because they are located close to several JCorp operations.

"We want to help the state government preserve the natural surroundings along the Johor River for its potential as the top eco-cultural destination in the country," Kamaruzzaman said. — Bernama
